Reach Out, Yourselves
OK, and I’m also about done hearing members of the news media and the local Democratic Party that the President and the rest of the majority of US citizens who voted for him need to begin reaching out and move their attitudes toward the left. What should be obvious is that the majority doesn’t agree with the left’s views as much as the left wants them to. Simply saying that they need to reach out and consider the viewpoints of people whose viewpoints they rejected isn’t “finding common ground.” I say that these same people need to do a bit more than simply expound on their worries and hope the President reaches out to their side. They need to be reaching out to our side, too. So far I’m not seeing any evidence of that at all. It’s like the election changed nothing and the realization that more people supported the President than not doesn’t seem to be getting through. Compromise, folks. It means both sides take steps toward the other and that includes the Democrats, in both senses of the sentiment.
