“Sunni” Headline A Bit Misleading
Go to most of the on-line news services and you’ll likely see a headline that says “Sunni Party Quits Gov’t” or some such. It’s true, but the impression the reader is left with is that the Sunni Iraqis have decided to leave en masse. Not so. It’s the Iraqi Islamic Party that’s felt the need to leave. They instructed their 1 minister in the cabinet to quit in protest of the attack in Fallujah. That’s their call, of course. There doesn’t appear to be any word from them about how they were going to handle the problem of a terrorist stronghold in control of one of their cities, either.
