Dems offer no suprises on what happens if they win

So, what’s on the House Minority Leader’s mind for what actions to take up first should her party become the majority in the House? Border security? Health care? Energy policy? Immigration?

Nah. She wants to fire up the investigation teams to produce the largest case of Monday-morning armchair quarterbacking in the nation’s history. Then they’ll get to what’s really important to them. Impeaching the President.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) said in an interview last week that a Democratic House would launch a series of investigations of the Bush administration, beginning with the White House’s first-term energy task force and probably including the use of intelligence in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq. Pelosi denied Republican allegations that a Democratic House would move quickly to impeach President Bush. But, she said of the planned investigations, “You never know where it leads to.”

OK, now if we “never know where it leads to,” how does it even remotely follow that you can claim with a straight face that you won’t rush to impeach? Especially when you consider the many, many times Democrat politicians and activists have screamed for such an action, you can’t trust what she claims. Which seems to be a recurring theme when you consider the Democrats’ proposals. As usual, no real ideas on how to handle our serious issues. It seems all they’re really interested in is the same “gotta get Bush” tunnel-vision approach they’ve had for 6 years. And these are the people you’d want in charge of protecting the nation?
