Civil War in Mexico?
The Mexican Electoral Court is supposed to make a decision today on the disputed elections that were run back on July 2. Conservative candidate Felipe Calderon has garnered the most votes (by 240,000) which is expected to be confirmed by the Court. His challenger, left-wing Manuel Lopez Obrador, has issued challenge after challenge, demanded recounts, accused first Calderon then the actual Court of fraud…
Sounds familiar.
Lopez Obrador is, however, reportedly preparing to form a “parallel government” should the Court side with Calderon. We have a term for that up here in the US, since we’ve seen that kind of action before. (That was about 145 years ago.) We call it, “civil war.” If such a thing takes hold with their military, we’re about to see some serious increase in border incursions.
