Venezuela should keep their eyes open
Hugo Chavez got handed a defeat at the polls yesterday as his package of “reforms” that would have permitted him to run for re-election indefinitely was defeated 51-49. Chavez has apparently seen the signs that to simply ignore that result would have been costly. However, given Chavez’s past statements and actions, I’d recommend the Venezuelans keep a close eye on him.
