Left’s reps can’t handle equality
My first reaction to reading the headline of the Fox News item, “Tina Fey Wants Palin Out of Her Life After Election” was to think that if she hadn’t have gone out of her way to draw attention to herself spoofing Palin then she wouldn’t be in the position she’s in. Fey’s looking for help in making sure she’s “done playing this lady November 5.” No problem. Quit playing her right now and you’re home free.
Greta Van Susteren, also with Fox News, drew attention to a spiteful little witch impersonating a serious journalist1 up in Canada last week. Heather Mallick of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation took catty to a new low by comparing Sarah Palin to a “porn actress” and Palin’s supporters with “white trash.” Oh, wait. My mistake. She didn’t compare Palin’s supporters with white trash, she explicitly called them white trash. Van Susteren called it like she saw it when she covered the story on her segment: of Mallick she said, “She’s a pig.” Of course, Mallick and her Canadian fans are up in arms over Van Susteren’s comment, prompting her to point out that Mallick obviously can dish it out but can’t take it. Now that’s reporting the facts.
It’s amazing how fast these icons of the left trot out their offensive screeds and then get all outraged when people respond to their provocations. They’re all for free speech and equality – as long as it’s speech they like and equality for them. When confronted with a little of their own medicine, they go all victim on everyone and cast about looking for people to pity them for their wounds inflicted by those mean, nasty conservatives.
Fey and Mallick: if you don’t like the attention, shut the hell up. Otherwise, suck it up and deal with it. Your targets certainly have.
1(It should be noted that the Ombudsman for the CBC, Vince Carlin, points out that Mallick is a “columnist not a journalist.” You can say that again, bud.)
