Loudoun’s BoS may recognize that it goofed with the Redskins vote
After deciding to hand over big bucks to the Journey Through Hallowed Ground (JTHG) folks while simultaneously flipping off the Redskins the Loudoun Board of Supervisors might be suffering from some regrets. Public opinion being pretty solidly behind the notion that the BoS made the wrong call, they’ve decided to take another look at the deal they’re on record refusing. The trouble with making decisions like that is that parties such as the Redskins aren’t going to just do nothing as a result. Seems a neighboring county is saying they’d love to have a shot at signing on with the ‘Skins:
While Loudoun reconsiders a deal with the Redskins — possibly as early as Dec. 18 — a neighboring county may be looking to intercept the deal.
By a narrow vote Dec. 2, Loudoun’s Board of Supervisors rejected a proposal to form a marketing partnership with the Redskins for a fee of $250,000. The money also would have been put toward plans for a Redskins hall of fame to be built in Loudoun.
Now, Fairfax County is looking to pick up the ball and run with it.
During a board meeting Dec. 8, the Fairfax Board of Supervisors approved a proposal to consider using tourism dollars to attract the Redskins.
Perhaps folks like Jim Burton spoke just a bit too hastily in their 1st meeting?
